Giuliano Named Commonwealth Conference Goalkeeper of the Week

ANNVILLE, Pa. - For the first time in her collegiate career sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Giuliano has been named the Commonwealth Conference Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week. The announcement was made Monday afternoon by the conference office.

Last week marked a sensational week for the Nutley, NJ native as she played 200 minutes and did not allow a single goal in a 1-0-1 week for the Women's Soccer team. In her first appearance Giuliano guided Albright to a 0-0 110 minutes draw with Rutgers-Newark.

On Saturday, Giuliano continued her outstanding play picking up not only her first conference win of her career, but her first conference shutout as well in the 2-0 win over Elizabethtown. The victory which was the first ever for the Women's Soccer program and saw Giuliano tally eight saves, five of which literally saved the game for the red and white.

Overall, Giuliano recorded 15 saves on the week, seven of which she earned against Rutgers-Newark. Her overall record on the season now stands at 2-3-1, and she now has 34 saves, and a goal against average of 1.03.

Women's Soccer returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to Arcadia University for a 4 p.m. Commonwealth Conference match.
