Women's Tennis Drops 9-0 Decision to Elizabethtown

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - After getting rained out on Saturday, the Albright Women’s Tennis team (2-5/0-4 Commonwealth) returned to action Monday afternoon as they faced Commonwealth Conference opponent Elizabethtown College (3-0/3-0 Commonwealth). The Lady Lions still in the hunt for their first conference win of the season fell to the host Blue Jays by the final score of 9-0.

Through the first three doubles matches the red and white played extremely well against their very tough opponents. In first singles Lisa Archibald and Ashley Woodcock fell by the score of 8-2. Moving to third doubles action, the newcomer duo of Desiree Owle and Anna Berzins played extremely well again, but were unable to get past their Blue Jay opponents falling 8-5.

Moving into singles competition, Elizabethtown took all six matches to earn the 9-0 conference victory.

Women’s Tennis returns to action on Saturday when they host Lycoming College at 1 p.m. in a Commonwealth Conference match on the Albright Tennis Courts.
