Neumann Takes Non-Conference win from Lady Lions

ASTON, Pa. - In their first of three matches this week, the Lady Lions (2-7) faced off against Neumann University Monday afternoon to close out their 2009 non-conference schedule. The host Knights downed the Lion netters by the final score of 8-1.
Picking up the lone victory was third doubles pair of
Desiree Owle and
Anna Berzins. They defeated their non-conference opponents by the final score of 9-8, 7-1. At second doubles
Amanda Cain and
Shaunte Allen also played a close match, but fell to their opponents by the score of 8-3.
In singles play Berzins played another extremely close match against Allison Trout. Trout managed to pull out the win defeating Berzins by the score of 6-3, 6-2.
Women’s Tennis returns to action tomorrow afternoon when they host Lycoming College at 3 p.m. in a Commonwealth Conference match at the Albright Tennis Courts.
