Women's Tennis to Compete in MAC Individual Championships

READING, Pa. - Starting this evening the Albright Women's Tennis team will be competing in the 2009 Middle Atlantic Conference Individual Championships in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

Serving as the host school for this year's tournament is Arcadia University, with the entire tournament being played at Kirby Park's Ralston Field Complex. The tournament which was originally suppose to start tomorrow morning will begin this evening at 6 p.m. and will be played all weekend long.

After closing out their season with the record of 3-8, 1-5 in the Commonwealth Conference six members of this year's roster will take part in this weekend's championship.

Competing in the singles tournament will be Lisa Archibald at first flight, Anna Berzins at second flight, Ashley Woodcock at third flight, Desiree Owle at fourth flight, Missy Yake and fifth flight, and Amanda Cain at sixth flight.

In doubles competition Archibald and Woodcock will team up at first flight. Cain and Shaunte Allen will compete at second flight, and Berzins and Owle will compete at third flight.
