Volleyball Blanks Delaware Valley for Second Time

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - Led by Danielle Ozment’s 13 kills and Lauren Higgins' 31 assists, the Lady Lions evened the record at 14-14 on the year as they shutout Delaware Valley College 3-0 Monday evening at James Work Gymnasium.

Overall, the Lions dominated all three games Monday evening. In game one, the red and white made quick work of their opponents defeating them 25-16. They then made it a 2-0 match when they defeated the Aggies 25-21 in game two. The third and final game saw the red and white defeated Delaware Valley 25-22 to earn the win.

Also producing offensively for Albright was Laura van Bendgem with seven kills on 18 attempts, and recorded only one attack error. Ozment scored her 13 kills on 26 attack attempts and was only charged with four errors.

Defensively Ozment posted 12 digs, and Kelly Nicodemus led the match with 14 digs of her own. Freshman Erin Wentzel posted a match high four aces and had four digs as well.

The Lady Lions will return to action on Wednesday when they host Alvernia University in the 2nd annual Dig Pink Match in the Bollman Center. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m. and all fans are asked to wear pink to Wednesday’s match.
