DOVER, Del - The Albright Volleyball team (10-10) had a sensational Sunday, as they went 3-0 at the Wesley College Classic to win their first tournament championship of the year. Albright defeated Delaware Valley College, Wesley College, and Penn State Abington.
On the day, the red and white lost just one game, and that was to the host Cougars of Wesley. They made quick work of both Delaware Valley College and Penn State Abington, shutting them out 3-0. Throuhgout the year, the Lady Lions have shown consistent improvement, and have been making a statement over the last couple of weeks.
Helping to pace the Lions to the victory was All-Tournament selections
Casey McFadden,
Alyssa Hoogendoorn, and
Danielle Ozment. Finishing in second place was Wesley College (2-1), followed by Delaware Valley (1-2) in third, and Penn State Abington (0-3) in fourth place.
The Lions return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Arcadia University for a Commonwealth Conference match scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
