Golf's Erik Thorn Places First at Bent Creek Invitational

LITITZ, Pa. - Sophomore Erik Thorn continued his dominant play Monday afternoon as he earned his first individual championship of the fall season at the Bent Creek Invitational hosted by Franklin and Marshall College.

The New Jersey native recorded a season best 69 which put him two under par on the day. As a whole the Lions finished in seventh place (332, +48) out of 20 teams that competed. Taking the team championship was Messiah College who shot a 303 (+19).

Earning the Lions second best finish overall was Steve Werst who recorded an 85 which placed him tied for 34th place. After him was David Morano in 55th place with an overall score of 88.

Closing out the invitational for the red and white was Brody Blessing with a 90 (+19, 65th place) and Drew Reich with a 94 (+23, 82nd place).

Men’s Golf will return to action on Thursday when they take part in the Elizabethtown College Fall Blue Jay Classic at noon.
