Football Moves up Three Spots, Ranked 18th on AFCA Coaches Poll

WACO, Texas - On Monday, the American Football Coaches Association announced this week's Top-25 Coaches Poll. Earning their highest ranking ever on the AFCA Top-25 were the undefeated Lions who jumped three spots from last week and are now ranked 18th in the nation.

This announcement comes after the Lions 49-28 victory over FDU-Florham on Saturday. Albright remains the only team in the Middle Atlantic Conference with undefeated record (8-0) and will be looking to extend their winning streak to nine games for the first time since 1996 (won 10 straight). Standing in their way will be the Aggies of Delaware Valley College who also carry a perfect 5-0 conference record as well.

The Aggies, who were named tri-champs with the Lions last season, were also ranked on this week's national poll (24th), and are currently ranked 20th on this week's D3Football.com Top-25 Poll. Albright “received votes” on this week's D3Football.com poll.

To date, the Lions continue to carry one of the top defense's in the Middle Atlantic Conference and are led by sophomore Alvin Thomas' team and conference best 10 sacks. Senior quarterback Tanner Kelly continues to lead the Lions this season. With a passing efficiency of 179.1, Kelly remains the conference leader and is currently ranked in the top-10 in DIII. His 2,071 total passing yards and 16 touchdowns also rank the senior in the top-3 in the MAC as well.
