Yost Earns Second Team All-Conference Honors

ANNVILLE, Pa. - On Monday, Middle Atlantic Conference executive office announced this year's All-Conference selections for Men's Soccer. Finding a place on the second team for the first time in his career was sophomore forward Mark Yost.

Yost, who started all 19 matches for the Lions, led Albright in the offensive third with three goals and two assists. However it was his play in the defensive third that truly made him stand out, especially against Messiah College.

In one of the team's biggest matches of the season, Yost made the jump from forward to sweep, and played extremely well. His speed and aggressive play made it extremely hard for the Falcons to possess the ball in the middle of the field.

When not on defense, Yost used his speed to blow by the opposition's defense on countless occasions. His ability to hit the long hard shot from anywhere on the field made him one of the most dangerous players in the commonwealth Conference.

Since taking over the program in 2005 Head Coach Pat Stanco has had at least one player named to the conference's second team every single season, except in 2008 when Maarten Kootstra '09 became the programs first ever First Team All-Conference honoree.

Albright closed out the 2009 season with a 6-11-2 record overall and a 1-6 record in the conference. The team graduated just two seniors and should return a solid group of veterans next fall.
