Men's Tennis Drops First Conference Match

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - In their first conference match of the season, the Lions fell to the Blue Jays of Elizabethtown College by the final score of 9-0 Thursday afternoon.
With the loss Albright’s overall record fell to 0-4 on the year 0-1 in the Commonwealth Conference. The Blue Jays record improved to 4-1, 1-0 in the conference.
The singles matches started with back-to-back 6-0, 6-0 victories for the Blue Jays. In the third singles spot Jason Lefkoe (Holland, PA/Council Rock HS South) dropped a 6-0, 6-2 decision to Bryan Metz. Elizabethtown would take the final three singles matches in decisive fashion.
Moving into doubles competition, Lee Fura (Reading, PA/Holy Name) and Kevin Gauby (Leesport, PA/Schuylkill Valley) played a hard fourth match against the Blue Jays first doubles team. The Lion duo despite their best efforts fell to their opponents by the score of 8-3.
Etown solidified their shutout win with an 8-0 victory at second doubles and a forfeit win in third doubles.
The Albright netters return to action on Monday when they travel to DeSales University for a 4 p.m. non-conference match.
