COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - On Tuesday, the Men's Tennis team (0-3) faced off against Ursinus College (2-5) in a non-conference match. Looking to earn their first win of the year, the red and white played extremely hard against their opponents. Unfortunately, the host Bears came out with the 9-0 victory.
The afternoon got started with a very competitive first singles match between
Lee Fura (Reading, PA/Holy Name) and Bennett MacLaughlan. At the fourth singles spot freshman
Kevin Wong (Hong Kong) played one his best matches of the season.
In doubles action, the red and white first duo of Fura and
Jason Lefkoe (Holland, PA/Council Rock HS South) were handed a tough 8-3 loss. Wong and
Kevin Gauby (Leesport, PA/Schuylkill Valley) also had a strong performance at second doubles, but were unable to pull out the win.
Men's Tennis returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to Elizabethtown College to face the Blue Jays in a Commonwealth Conference. The conference match scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
