Penn State Berks Takes Non-Conference Win from Lions
READING, Pa. - In their second home match of the season the Men’s Tennis team faced off against Penn State Berks Wednesday afternoon at the Albright College Tennis Courts.

The visiting Nittany Lions defeated Albright by the final score of 9-0. The loss dropped the Lions record to 0-2 on the year, while Penn State Berks record improved to 4-1 overall.

Penn State Berks made quick work in their first three matches of the afternoon. Fourth singles player Mike Callahan (Lake Ariel, PA/Western Wayne) had a very busy first set. Callahan would keep the score close throughout, but would not be able to hold on, falling to the Nittany Lions Andrew Miller by the score of 6-4. In set two, Miller defeated Callahan 6-1 to make it 4-0.

Albright would drop their final two singles matches by the scores of 6-0, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-2. In doubles action, the Nittany Lions made it another sweep with three straight victories to secure the 9-0 win. All three doubles matches were 8-1 decisions.

Men’s Tennis returns to action on Monday when they travel to Collegeville, Pa. to face Ursinus College at 3:30 p.m.
