WAYNESBURG, PA - The Albright Men's Cross-Country team closed out their 2008 season traveling to Waynesburg University to compete in the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional meet Saturday morning. As a whole the Lions earned 34th place out of a field of 43 teams, with Carnegie Mellon taking the top team spot with a combined time of 25:37.
Carnegie also had the top runner in the meet as Brian Harvey crossed the finish line with a time of 25:10 on the 8K course. For Albright freshman runner George Cook (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial Township) earned the team's top finish with a time of 27:50 and crossed the finish line in 105th place.
Behind Cook was Spencer Shaak (Reading, PA/Exeter Township Senior) who managed a time of 29:26 (193rd place). Robert Kellert (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial) trailed Shaak by only five spots and crossed the finish line for the final time this season with a time of 29:32.
Eli Frey (Fleetwood, PA/Oley Valley Senior) and Dan Dalton (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) closed out the top five runners for the Red and White with times of 30:02 and 30:06 respectively.
Sophomore runner Jacob Goldberg (Haddonfield NJ/Haddonfield Memorial) and senior runner Jay Feitshans (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial) finished the afternoon in 226th and 240th place. Goldberg recorded a time of 30:23, while Feitshans who ran his final meet as a member of the Albright Lions closed out the day with a time of 31:03.
