READING, PA - In their final regular season meet of the 2008 season, the Men's Cross-Country team hosted their annual Homecoming Meet Saturday afternoon competing against a field of 12 teams.
Overall the Red and White earned a score of 52, with Catholic University taking the top team honors defeating Albright by only four points (48). The Cardinals Paul Santuoso earned the top individual finish ending the afternoon with a time of 27:34.40 on the 8K course.
For Albright, George Cook (Brick, NJ/Brick Township Memorial) earned his first top five finish ever in his young career posting a time of 27:59.20 and a fourth place finish. Spencer Shaak (Reading, PA/Exeter Township Senior) trailed his teammate by a second earning an eighth place ranking and a time of 28:47.90.
Robert Kellert (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial) came across the finish line in 11th place with a time of 29:13.00. Coming in with a 15th place finish was Jacob Goldberg (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial) who had a time of 29:30.80. Closing out the top 20 was Eli Frey (Fleetwood, PA/Oley Valley Senior) earning a time of 29:42.70 (17th place).
Freshman Donald Wonnie (Reading, PA/Wilson) recorded his best career finish with a 23rd place finish and a time of 30:36.10. Jay Feitshans (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial) and Anthony Carroza (Reading, PA/Reading Senior) recorded back-to-back finishes with times of 31:44.40 and 31:50.40.
Chris Bollinger (Little Silver, NJ/Rumson Fair Haven) closed out the day for the Red and White with a time of 35:25.40 (72nd place). Men's Cross-Country will next compete in the Conference meet on Saturday November 1st. A start time has not yet been announced.
