READING, Pa. - In their first home conference match of 2009, the Lady Lions (1-3/0-2 CC) faced off against Commonwealth Conference defending champions Lebanon Valley College (4-0/2-0 CC) Thursday afternoon at the Albright Tennis Courts.

Lebanon Valley showing why they are the defending conference champions defeated Albright by the final score of 9-0 to remain undefeated in conference play.

Through the first six singles matches, Albright tried their best to match-up with the Dutchmen, but could not prevail. Freshman Jessica Gordon battled it out with Morgan Brady at fifth singles, but was unable to overcome falling 6-1, 6-4.

Moving into doubles play the duo of Anna Berzins and Desiree Owle put forth a solid effort against their LVC opponents Tamer Lobb and Lauren Fulmer. The Dutchmen duo did manage to pull out an 8-4 win, but it was not an easy one at all.

Women’s Tennis returns to action this Saturday when they travel to Penn State Abington for an 11 a.m. non-conference match.
