SWARTHMORE, Pa. - In day one of the Swarthmore College Kick Classic, the Lady Lions faced off against New York University. Albright who earned a dominant 6-0 victory in their season opener fell to NYU by the final score of 2-0, Friday evening.

Friday's contest got off to a very interesting start as Albright goalkeeper #Keeley Peltz# was dealt a red card in the first seven minutes of play. Sophomore #Heather Fitzgerald# took over in goal for Peltz and had quite a busy evening.

Fitzgerald along with her defense held NYU off the scoreboard for almost the entire contest. Despite totaling 31 shots on the day, 11 of which were on target, NYU did not break the scoreless draw until the 81st minute.

Scoring the go ahead goal for NYU was Filiz Kipcakli who connected with a corner kick cross from Lucy Dolly Caires. The 2-0 victory was then sealed two minutes later on a goal by Emily Jenkinson.

On the other side of the field, Albright's offense was held to just one shot in the contest and did not record a single corner kick. NYU totaled eight corner kicks in Friday's win.

Women's Soccer returns to action this Sunday when they take on Swarthmore College at 6 p.m.
