Ashcroft Earns Conference Weekly Honors, Again

ANNVILLE, Pa. - For the third time this season, junior guard Matt Ashcroft has been named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week, which was announced by the executive office Monday morning.

In the 1-1 week for the Lions, Ashcroft averaged a career best 21 points per game, and led the Lions to a come from behind non-conference win over Misericordia. Against the Cougars, Ashcroft scored a career best 30-points to help the Lions to the 82-73 win. In 29 minutes of playing time, Ashcroft was 10-for-14 from the field, 6-for-10 from three point range, and 4-for-4 from the line.

Over the weekend, Ashcroft led the red and white with 12 points in the conference loss to Lycoming College. From the floor, Ashcroft was 3-for-12, which included a pair of 3-point baskets, and was 4-for-5 at the line. He also went onto lead the Lions in rebounding with a season high nine boards.

Men's Basketball returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to Widener University for an 8 p.m. Commonwealth Conference game.
