Meet Results
KUTZTOWN, Pa. - The Albright Indoor Track and Field team made their 2010 return late Friday afternoon at the Kutztown Collegiate Invitational. In total the red and white posted 17 top-10 finishes respectively.
To start off Friday's meet,
Shannon Loos picked up a ninth place finish in the prelims of the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.94. She later took fifth in the 200 meter dash with a team best time of 28.76.
Taylor Kutz closed out the 200 with a eighth place finish and a time of 28.90.
In the 1,000 meter run,
Danielle DiPietro was the Lions only competitor and earned a fifth place finish as she crossed the finish line with a time of 3:37.83.
Gabby Stine was another top-10 finisher for Albright, this time in the mile run. The junior distance runner finished out the event with a time of 6:06.61, which was a new personal best.
Switching over the men's side of Friday's meet, sophomore
Clif LeGrand finished the very fast 55 meter dash in 12th place with a time of 6.85. Switching over to the distance events,
Bob Kellert closed out the 1,000 meter run with a time of 2:49.39 to take sixth place and set a new school record.
LeGrand and
Justin Gewirtz finished in fifth and sixth place respectively in the high jump each recording jumps of 6-00.00. Newcomer
Daniel Simmons closed out the long jump in eighth place with a jump of 20-04.25. Right behind him was LeGrand in ninth place with a career best jump of 19-09.50.
Making his second appearance as a member of the track and field program,
Clark Runciman finished in ninth place in the triple jump event with a distance of 38-03.25.
A total of three competitors finished in the top-10 in the shot put event for the Lions, starting with
Dane Canonico. The freshman recorded a new personal best with a toss of 42-04.75. Behind him in eighth place was
Anthony Pellegrino with a throw of 40-11.75 and Andrew Hettinger with a toss of 39-03.25.
To close out Friday's meet, both Pellegrino and Hettinger finished in the top-10 in the weight throw. Pellegrino finished in eighth (41-07.00) and Hettinger in 10th (39-01.75).
Track and Field returns to action next Friday when they compete in the Ursinus College Invitational, which is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
