McGinness Named Conference Player of the Week

ANNVILLE, Pa. - For the first time this season junior guard Jessica McGinness has been named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday morning.

McGinness, who helped the Lady Lions to a 1-1 conference week, averaged 22 points per game and shot over 55% (16-29) from the field, 44% from behind the arc (4-9) and 100% at the free throw line (8-8).

In last Wednesday's win over Arcadia University the Norristown native totaled a game high 20 points to lead Albright to their second straight victory. Over the weekend, McGinness recorded a new season high of 24 points in the tough loss to Lebanon Valley College.

Saturday's game not only marked a new season best for the junior, but it was also the third consecutive game in which she has recorded 20 or more points. McGinness also totaled eight rebounds, six assists, and three steals in 57 minutes of playing time.

The Lady Lions will return to action on Wednesday when they host DeSales University at 7 p.m. in a non-conference game.
