CAPE COD, Mass. - For the first time in his career junior guard
Zac Shaeffer has been named the ECAC Division III South Region Player of the Week, as announced late Tuesday evening.
Coming off a career week, Shaeffer ended the regular season averaging a sensational 32 points per game. He also shot a career best 91% from the free throw line as the Lions earned the number two-seed in this year's conference tournament.
His 44 point performance against Alvernia in the double-overtime win is still being hailed as one of the greatest performances in recent memory. Combined the Lampeter, native was 18-for-28 from the field and 7-for-16 from three-point range. At the charity strip Shaeffer was nearly perfect making 21 of his 23 opportunities.
