MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina – The Lady Lions (4-6) winning ways continued Wednesday afternoon as they downed the Corsairs of UMass Dartmouth for the second time this week. As a team Albright posted 10 runs on seven hits to take a 10-1 victory in five innings of play.
With the win the Lady Lions spring trip record improves to 4-2 overall, and marks the Lady Lions first sweep of the season, having defeated the Corsairs on Sunday by the final score of 10-2 in a game that also went just five innings.
Leading her team in the circle was junior righty
Dana Parolari who retired a total of five Corsair hitters in her five innings of action. The win improved Parolari's season record to 1-2 overall.
At the plate freshman
Jaime Weckesser continued to shine going 2-for-4 on the day, with her first collegiate home run. The first baseman also walked away with four RBI's to improve her season total to eight, which leads the team.
Alex Tragno also picked up a pair of hits in the non-conference win Wednesday afternoon. Albright took control of the contest early scoring a two runs in the bottom of the first. They then made it a three run game in the third, which was then followed by a seven run fourth inning which put the game completely out of reach for UMass.
The Corsairs' lone run came in the top of the fifth and was unearned.
Softball will close out their spring trip tomorrow when they take on Stevenson University at 8:30 a.m., followed by a 10:30 a.m. match-up with Bay Path College.
