Box Score

READING, Pa. - In a back and forth match that could have gone either way it was the visiting Bulldogs of DeSales University (1-11) that managed to pull out a 6-3 win over the host Lions (0-7) Tuesday afternoon on the Albright College Tennis Courts.

To start off the afternoon, the Lions picked up a huge doubles victory with Kenneth Ip and Lee Fura shutting out their opponents 8-0. At third doubles Jason Lefkoe and Joe Monzo dropped an extremely tough 8-3 decision to DeSales Joe Supizio and Robert Felty.

DeSales would eventually end doubles play with a 2-1 advantage moving into the six singles matches.

At first singles, Ip picked up another win defeated the Bulldogs Dan Bullen 6-1, 6-3. His dual victories marked the first time that Ip has recorded both a singles and doubles victory in the same match.

Fura also walked away with a pair of wins Tuesday afternoon defeating his second singles opponent 6-2, 6-2. Unfortunately, DeSales would sweep the final four singles matches to take the 6-3 victory and earn their first win of the season.

Men’s Tennis returns to action tomorrow afternoon when they host Lebanon Valley College at 3:30 p.m. in a Commonwealth Conference match.
