WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Down two players before the match even began, the Lions (0-9/0-6 CC) had to work extra hard against the Warriors of Lycoming College (8-2/5-1 CC). Unfortunately their efforts fell just short as the host Warriors defeated the Lions 9-0 Saturday afternoon.
To start off the day Lycoming took all three doubles match. They first took an 8-3 decision at first doubles, then an 8-0 decision at second doubles. The red and white had to forfeit the third and final doubles match because of the short roster.
Moving into singles competition,
Lee Fura took over in the number one singles spot and battled it out with Robert Brown. Brown went on to take both matches by the scores of 6-2, 6-2. From there the Warriors earned two 6-0, 6-0 decisions and one 6-1, 6-0 decision to earn the sweep.
Men’s Tennis returns to action on Tuesday when they host Lancaster Bible College at 3:30 p.m. on the Albright Tennis Courts.
