Men's Golf Sitting in 6th Place After Day 1 of Glenmaura Invite

Day 1 Results

MOOSIC, Pa. – After battling the rain and less than stellar playing conditions the Albright Men's Golf team is currently sitting in sixth place after the first day of competition at the 2010 Glenmaura National Invitational hosted by the University of Scranton.

With a score of 334, the red and white are currently one stroke ahead of Lebanon Valley College, and trail Elizabethtown College by only six strokes. Currently in first place after the first round is Susquehanna University with a team score of 300.

The Crusaders, fresh off their 2010 Empire 8 Conference Championship dominated the field Sunday afternoon, with all five players ranked in the top-12. Mitch Mercer leads all competitors with a 73.

For the Lions Erik Thorn and Dave Morano are currently tied for 23rd place with scores of 83. Behind them are Matthew Osorio and Brett Cybulski in 26th place. The two golfers finished out the afternoon each with a score of a 86. The final Albright golfer to compete on Sunday was Steve Werst, who is currently in 36th place with a score of 89.

Men's Golf will close out the Glenmaura National Invitational tomorrow afternoon. Play will begin early in the morning and run throughout the afternoon.
