Men's Tennis Earns 5-4 Win over Lancaster Bible

READING, Pa. – After a long hard season, the Lions (1-9) work finally paid off as they recorded their first win of the year with a 5-4 victory over Lancaster Bible College (0-13) Tuesday afternoon on the Albright Tennis Courts.

To start off the afternoon, the red and white picked up second and third doubles victory to take a 2-1 lead over the Chargers. At the number two spot Kenneth Ip and Mike Callahan defeated their opponents by the score of 8-2. After that Joe Monzo and Adam Stamm defeated their Lancaster Bible opponents 8-3.

Moving into singles competition, Ip continued his winning ways as he dominated Brandon Klinger in back-to-back sets to earn a 7-5, 6-2 win. After three straight Lancaster Bible victories, Albright battled back with wins at fifth and sixth singles.

Callahan shut down his opponent 6-2, 6-0, while Stamm earned his first singles win of the season with a 6-3, 6-2 decision.

Men’s Tennis will close out their 2010 schedule on Thursday when they host Ursinus College at 3 p.m.
