EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. – After closing out their 2010 season earlier this week, three members competed in the 2010 Commonwealth Conference Individual Tournament Saturday afternoon at the Ralston Courts at Kirby Park.
Competing in singles competition for the Lions was freshman
Kenneth Ip, junior
Mike Callahan, and freshman
Joe Monzo.
Ip, who was the Lions number one singles player all season long, was defeated in his conference tournament debut by the final scores of 6-4, 6-2. At the number five singles spot, Callahan was defeated Eastern University’s Josh Hall by the final scores of 6-0, 6-1.
In Monzo’s Commonwealth Conference debut, he was defeated by Elizabethtown’s Brian Osborn by the final scores of 6-2, 6-0.
Albright also competed in doubles competition, with Ip and Callahan competing at the number two doubles spot. The duo put forth a valiant effort but were defeated by Alvernia’s Ryan Lineaweaver and Zachary Marsar by the final score of 8-2.
