Casey Lawrence led the Auburn Doubledays to a 6-1 victory over the Williamsport Crosscutters Monday evening in front 1,075 fans at Historic Bowman Field.
Lawrence, who had thrown a combined five innings in two games since joining the Doubledays earlier this month, entered the contest with a 0.00 ERA. Up to yesterday's start the righty had only one hit, two walks, and struck out a total of three batters
In his first win of his very young professional career, Lawrence went six complete innings. The McSherrystown native gave up just one run on one hit, and fanned a total of seven batters, and did not surrender a walk. His 0.82 ERA ranks him third in the Doubleday's bullpen, while is 11 innings pitched leads the team.
