The Albright College women's cross country team opened its 2011 campaign with its home invitational on Saturday, placing third out of five teams.
Senior
Kim Hummel led the Lions with a seventh place finish (in 27:44), followed by 15th-placed
Shanna Hawkins in 29:47.
Sophomore
Sami Haynes was 22nd in 31:58 while junior
Mary Frederick (25th) was next, in 32:46.
Mackenzie Miller (39th, 36:27) and
Lauren Centafont (44th, 45:35) rounding out Albright's group.
Catholic's
Camelia Mayfield won the 6K race in 25:07. Her Cardinals squad finished second to Bryn Mawr, who grabbed five of the top 10 individual places.
Albright will be back in action next weekend at Misericordia University's Cougar Classic.
