Junior Caroline Vazzana led the way as the Albright College women's cross country team competed at the Messiah College Invitational on Saturday.

Albright placed fifth of six teams, with the hosts winning the team competition.

Vazzana was 16th overall, completing the 6k course in a time of 26:45.80. She was followed by Shanna Hawkins (27:31.10, 25th).

Junior Sami Haynes (28:32.60) was 38th, while newcomers Becca Stickler (30:41.90) and Karen Gasior (35:53.40) rounded out Albright's scoring contingent.

Albright will host its Homecoming Meet on October 20, the final race for the Lions before the Middle Atlantic Conference championships.
