Kevin Rodgers has been named the new head men's and women's cross country coach at Albright College, ahead of the squad's 2012 season. He will also serve as an assistant coach with the track & field program.
Rodgers is a 2010 graduate of Kutztown University, where he was a member of the Golden Bears' Division II cross country and track teams.
A two-year captain in cross country, Rodgers finished in the top-40 at both the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and NCAA Regional championships.
Rodgers' coaching experience includes being an assistant at Conestoga High School, and the assistant director of the Irish Road Youth Track & Field Club. He holds his USATF Level 1 coaching certification.
The Lion men are coming off a ninth place finish in the Middle Atlantic Conference, while the women were 11th at last year's championships. Albright will need to replace first team All-Conference selection
George Cook on the men's side, along with top female finisher
Kim Hummel.
Albright opens the season on September 8 at the Lebanon Valley Dutchmen Invitational, and will host a Homecoming meet on October 20. The 2012 MAC championships will be held at Misericordia University on October 27.
