Competing with just five runners, the Albright College women's cross country team placed ninth of 13 teams, Saturday at the Misericordia Cougar Classic.

Junior Caroline Vazzana led the way with a 24th place finish, in 26:29.64. Senior Shanna Hawkins (66th) followed in 28:07.14.

Also finishing for the Lions were Sami Haynes (29:19.98), Rebecca Stickler (31:50.42) and Karen Gasior (36:05.24).

MAC entrant Elizabethtown won the women's race, with Traci Tempone (23:14.84) taking first place overall.
