On the same day that she was named the Commonwealth Conference women's tennis Player of the Year, Albright College junior
Victoria Foanio has also been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team.
Foanio was an at-large selection in District 4. The at-large ballot includes all sports that do not have their own sponsored Academic All-American team, making it arguably the most competitive. Foanio is now eligible for the Academic All-American at-large voting, with the teams set to be released in a few weeks.
A three-time Commonwealth Player of the Year and first team All-Conference selection, Foanio was also the Rookie of the Year in 2011. She won MAC singles titles in 2011 and 2012, along with a doubles championship in 2011.
Foanio holds school records for singles and doubles wins in a season. For her career, she is 43-1 at first singles, and was 20-1 overall at singles this season.
In the classroom, Foanio (an accounting major) has maintained a GPA of 3.80, and is a Shirk and Jacob Albright Scholar.
The team captain also has a long list of extracurriculars and community service. She will be Student Government President next year, after serving as Vice President of Finance in 2012-13. She is a SAAC member, a campus tour guide, and a student tutor.
She has helped lead an overhaul of the Albright women's tennis team that culminated in the program's first ever Commonwealth Conference playoff berth last spring.
