Foanio Named Player of the Year, Sell Also on All-Conference Team

Albright College junior Victoria Foanio earned another Player of the Year award, while sophomore Alyssa Sell was also recognized as the Commonwealth released its 2013 women's tennis All-Conference teams.

Foanio was named the Commonwealth Player of the Year and a first team selection for the third time in three seasons.

She was 20-1 in singles play this season, including a dominant 14-0 in the number-one spot. She won her second consecutive MAC singles championship, defeating Wilkes' Melanie Nolt in the championship for the second straight season.

Foanio is now 43-1 for her career while playing at number-one singles. She was perfect in individual competition against conference opponents for the season.

Sell was named second team All-Conference for the second consecutive year. She went 8-2 with Foanio at first doubles, and 10-5 overall.

In singles play Sell was 14-7, including a 10-4 mark in the number-two spot. She was a finalist in consolation bracket singles play at ITA regionals, and reached the semifinals at MAC individuals.

Both student-athletes have also been exceptional in the classroom, with Foanio maintaining a GPA of 3.80 and Sell a cumulative average of 3.86. Just this afternoon Foanio was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team, and is now eligible for the Academic All-American vote.

Foanio gives Albright a final total of five conference Players of the Year for the 2012-13 year, joining Danisha Higgs (Women's Indoor Track, Women's Outdoor Track), Ralph Porrazzo (Men's Swimming) and Dave Singleton (Men's Basketball).
