BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- Albright's
Malik Gilmore and
Daniel Sobolewski were each named to the D3football.com 2014 All-East Region team as selected by East Region sports information directors and D3football.com staff members and announced by the organization on Monday.
Gilmore, a sophomore from Ellicott City, Md., was named first team special teams performer, while Sobolewski, a junior from Linden, N.J., was named the third team placekicker.
Gilmore currently leads the nation in blocked kicks with four on the year. He had three blocked kicks in the Lions victory over FDU-Florham and also blocked a potential game-tying field goal attempt versus Lebanon Valley in Albright's regular-season finale.
Gilmore was twice chosen as the Middle Atlantic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week and the Eastern College Athletic Conference Southeast Special Teams Player of the Week. He also was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week on two occasions.
Sobolewski earned his second consecutive D3football.com Third Team All-East Region honor after also being named to the third team in 2013.
Sobolewski is ranked ninth in the nation averaging 1.36 field goals per game and his pair of 52-yard field goals is tied for the second-longest kick in NCAA Division III this season.
He tied the Albright school record of five field goals in a game versus Wilkes and he also tied the school record for most points in a game by a kicker with 18 against the Colonels.
Sobolewski was twice named the MAC Special Teams Player of the Week and the ECAC Southeast Special Teams Player of the Week.
Both Gilmore and Sobolewski are now eligible to be named to the D3football.com All-America team.
