> Former Albright Baseball Coach Stan Hyman Dies at Age 50

MACOMB, Ill. - The college baseball world was saddened on September 5 when former Albright College baseball coach Stan Hyman died in the early morning hours. Hyman, who coached at Albright from 1994-98, lost his long battle with cancer at the age of 50.

> MASCAC Spring Academic Honor Roll Announced

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation spring Academic Honor Roll, which notes academic excellence by student-athletes, contains 442 honorees as announced by Executive Director Ken Andrews.

> Trio Earns All-Conference Honors

ANNVILLE, Pa. - On Thursday, the Commonwealth Conference announced the 2009 all-conference honorees. Earning a place on this year’s first team was senior third baseman Jason Dunkelberger (Shillington, PA/Governor Mifflin). Senior pitcher Tim Flannery (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) and junior pitcher Casey Lawrence (McSherrystown, PA/Delone Catholic) each earned a place on the all-conference second team.

GRANTHAM, Pa. - With the score even at 5-5 in the bottom of the 13th inning, the host Falcons of Messiah College loaded the bases with no outs on a single and back-to-back walks. Second baseman Jon Shenk stepped up to the plate and laid down a sacrifice squeeze bunt which allowed Derek Sipe to score the game winning run downing the Lions 6-5 in a Commonwealth Conference game.
