Dutchmen Take 2-0 Conference win from Lions
Box Score

READING, Pa. - Still in the hunt for their first conference win of the 2009 season, the Lions (5-8-2/0-3 CC) hosted the Dutchmen of Lebanon Valley College (7-5-2/2-2 CC) in a Commonwealth Conference match Saturday afternoon at Shirk Stadium.

Proving to be the deciding factor in what was a 2-0 Dutchmen win were back-to-back goals in less the 26th and 27th minutes of the match. Lebanon Valley initially jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a made Travis Steedle penalty kick. It then became a 2-0 as Dutchman Justin Hutchinson was able to drive home a loose ball in the Lions goal box.

Despite surrendering the two quick scores, the Lions were evenly matched with Lebanon Valley. The Dutchmen managed to hold a two shot advantage (14-12) over the red and white, but it was Albright that led the contest in corner kick opportunities (7-4).

Albright goalkeepers Ryan Barr and Billy Howard combined for four saves respectively, while Leb. Valley goalkeeper Andrew Raudensky made four saves of his own.

Producing some quality chances for the Lions offense throughout the match was sophomore Mark Yost who had four shots, and freshmen Drew Williams who had three shots.

Men’s Soccer returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to Alvernia University for a 7 p.m. Commonwealth Conference match.
