Women's Soccer Falls on Final Day of FDU Classic

MADISON, N.J. – On day two of the FDU Classic Women's Soccer tournament the Lady Lions (1-2) dropped a 5-1 decision to Stevens Institute of Technology (3-0). Netting her first goal of the season, and Albright's only score of the match was junior midfielder #Emma Tutino#.

In total the Lady Lion's offense totaled 10 shots on the day, while the Ducks recorded 27 of their own. Tutino's goal which was unassisted came in 48th minute of the match.

Albright goalkeepers #Olivia Giuliano# and #Kelsey Kuhns# shared time in goal on Sunday. Giuliano came up with seven saves in her 45 minutes of action, and Kuhns added three saves to her line in the final 45 minutes of play.

Stevens Tech, Kaitlyn McClymont tallied four saves while in goal for the Ducks, and Melissa Murphy recorded three of her own in the second half.

Sunday's meeting was the first ever for Albright and Stevens Tech. The Ducks, who compete in the Empire 8 Conference, wasted little time getting on the scoreboard. Their first goal of the match came in the 12th minute. They then added their second less than three minutes later to jump out to 2-0 lead.

Following the second goal, the Lady Lions defense settled down and held the Ducks scoreless for the remainder of the first half. Tutino's goal led off the second half, but Stevens Tech answered right back just moments later with their third goal of the day.

They then went on to net their final two goals in less than a minute to secure the 5-1 victory and the tournament championship. On Saturday, the Ducks defeated the host Devils by the final score of 3-2 in double overtime.

FDU-Florham and New Jersey City University each finished the tournament with a 1-1 record. Following the Albright/Stevens Tech match, FDU defeated NJCU by the final score of 3-2 in their second double overtime match of the weekend.

Women's Soccer returns to action on Wednesday when they host Immaculata University at 5 p.m. in Shirk Stadium. An audio webcast of Wednesday's game will be available with Steve Degler calling the action.
