Saturday Preliminary Results
Ralph Porrazzo's championships record and NCAA "B" cut highlighted Albright's performance in Saturday's preliminaries at the MAC swimming championship meet.
Porrazzo swam 51.64 in the 100 back, breaking the championships record and earning the top seed. It was Albright's first NCAA qualifying time of the season.
Adam Kurtz was fourth, qualifying for the A final, and
Dan Cahill was 13th to make the B final.
Also earning a top seed was Adam Vogel in the 400 IM (4:20.09).
Sam Rosenthal was fourth and
Matt Bauer was fifth.
Chris Longworth made the B final in 13th.
Kurtz is the second seed in the 100 fly, with a preliminary time of 53.22.
Drew Leahy (fourth) and
Tim Pierce (6th) also made the top heat, while
Bobby McNair (10th) also qualified.
Freshman
Rick Sutton will be the second seed in the 200 free (1:46.93), and is joined in the A final by
Mike McBride,
Rainer Floeter and
Sean Spellacy.
Josh Park (fifth) made the A final in the 100 breast, while
Richard Edwards was ninth in the prelims.
Senior
Aimee Snyder will be the top seed in the 400 IM, with a time of 4:48.95.
Amanda Osterlind,
Liz Muller and
Kari Keller gave the Lions four of the top six seeds.
Freshman
Gwen Stefan (1:59.57) grabbed the second seed in the 200 free, while
Katy Oeste (eighth) also got herself into the A final.
Kaitlyn Huizing (1:00.37) and
Tricia Janowiak went 3-4 in the 100 back prelims.
Codi Herr was fourth in the 100 fly prelims (1:00.54), while
Madison Hauk (12th) and
Danielle Hassard (16th) will swim in the B final.
Keller is the fourth seed in the 100 breast (1:10.39), while
Lauren Cormier (seventh) and
Emily Summers (eighth) gave the Lions three spots in the top heat.
Final heats will begin at 5 p.m. tonight.
